Both children and adults are enjoying new additions to the Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, where new shading and playground equipment were installed this month.
Large fabric shading structures were constructed next to the splash pad to provide parents with a place to cool off while their children enjoy the water, and several cube-shaped playground pods were placed in the park for children to climb on.
“I understand the kids are loving it and that’s what the park’s for,” said Keith Butler, chairman of the Kilmarnock Town Council streets, sidewalks and playgrounds committee.
The council celebrated these additions to the Town Centre Park at their monthly meeting on Monday, October 15.
The new equipment was installed just in time for the final Music on the Half Shell Stage show of the season at 5 p.m. tonight, October 18, featuring the 7th Street Band and the Something Different Duo….
