WHITE STONE—White Stone’s noise ordinance is unenforceable, according to town attorney Matson Terry.
Terry was tasked with reviewing the ordinance and making recommendations to town council, which broached the issue in August after fielding several resident complaints. Most of the complaints were made about one business, Frere told council last month.
Council’s concern last month was that the ordinance appeared too broad and lacked enforceable hours.
However, Terry said at last Thursday’s meeting it’s not the lack of hours that’s concerning but that the ordinance is unconstitutional. Its definitions of noise are too vague.
