REEDVILLE—Tracy Jo-Ann Long, 61, of Reedville passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, July 4, 2025. She was a physical therapy assistant with both Lancashire and Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury.
Jo-Ann is survived by her parents, Malcolm and Martha Teates Long; sons, Joshua Long (Amanda Harper) and Jonathon Long (Kyleigh Murphy); granddaughters, Luna and Lorelei, and grandsons, Salem and Levi Long; sister, Teresa LaRue (Timmy); and brother, Nathaniel Long; nephew, Matthew Fisher (June); and nieces, Ryhlie, Gemma and Phoebe Long; many extended family members and many great friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her sister Tammy Long-McIntyre.
Jo-Ann has been a part of the Fleeton community for many years. She was very active in Bethany United Methodist Church in Reedville, loved going to yard sales and thrift stores, meeting new people and making friends fast with her wit, humor and warm genuine care. She loved playing with her grandchildren, and teaching them to appreciate the small things in life and seeing the beauty in the world. She never missed a chance to brighten someone’s day, or make someone laugh. She enjoyed giving back to her community in any way she could.
In her role with Lancashire and RW-C, Jo-Ann was a big part of keeping the residents active, engaged and happy, much more than just in a physical therapy role. She genuinely cared for, and enjoyed aiding the residents and was well-loved by all of her coworkers and those she treated. She made many friends through her love of helping people.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. July 19 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Reedville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741; or the Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 975, White Stone, VA 22578.
