Tramutola wins RPRC wobble shotgun match

The Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club (RPRC) held its final shotgun match of the 2024 season on Sunday, September 29. There were 13 competitors.

Overall winners were first, Dave Tramutola, hitting 44 of 50 clays; second, Wade Dellinger, 40; third, Keith Crandall, 39, by sudden death shoot off; and Tom Smith, fourth, 39; fifth, Mark Ralls, 38, by sudden death shoot off; and sixth, Lisa Heishman, 38. Heishman also placed first in the lady’s division.

Wobble trap is a variant of standard trap, reported competition director Creed Fallin. The main difference is a much more extreme target flight path than in standard trap shooting. The trap oscillates up and down as well as side to side throwing clays for the shooters at different angles, heights and distances.

It is not an easily mastered shotgun game….
