Turkey Trot time draws near in Irvington

Registrations for the 18th annual Irvington Turkey Trot, a local Thanksgiving tradition for runners and walkers, families and leashed family pets, are running ahead of expectations this year, according to the Irvington Village Improvement Association, the volunteer organization that manages the popular event.

“The wonderful Thanksgiving dinner that most of us will indulge in next week will taste so much better after a morning run or walk in the Irvington Turkey Trot,” said race director Michelle Lybarger.

Beginning near the Irvington Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, the community event includes a 2-mile fun run at 9 a.m., a 5-mile run at 10 a.m., and a 100-yard Tot Trot for children under 10 at 11 a.m.
