Twin Branch Wellness and Recovery for Women… by women

The secluded, peaceful campus of Twin Branch Wellness and Recovery for Women (TBWR) is nestled in nature on the banks of the Twin Branch Millpond at 1471 Davis Mill Road in Lancaster. The 30-acre site, the former home of Morningstar Nursing Home, also is a perfect location for its new purpose: a residential treatment center to help women overcome addiction and get their lives, and in turn the lives of their families, healthy and back on track.

“We began this based on the experience of a loved one,” said Amy Harvey, co-founder and co-executive director of TBWR with Jennifer Bramblett. Though neither have any experience in recovery, they knew there were unmet needs to help women in a residential setting. In fact, once opened, TBWR will be the only residential treatment program exclusively for women in Virginia. This is despite a 25% increase in overdoses by women statewide this year as reported by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).
