In January, hundreds of band students from District XV, which extends from the Northern Neck up through Stafford County, auditioned to be a part of the all-district middle school honor bands.
Two eighth-grade Lancaster Middle School students, Jameson Scott and Christian Bowers, were selected to be a part of the District Concert Band. At 11 a.m. Friday morning, February 15, the students gathered at North Stafford High School, and in a day and a half prepared four pieces of music of different styles and performed them Saturday afternoon, said LMS band director Kenny Flester. They were the only students from the Northern Neck.
