Give Me Liberty
Through February 16, the Gloucester Main Library, 6920 Main Street, Gloucester, will host Give Me Liberty: Virginia and the Forging of a Nation.
The signature exhibit of the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250), is presented in partnership with the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and the Virginia Museum of History & Culture, exploring Virginia’s central role in the creation of the nation.
VA250 event
The Gloucester Museum of History, 6504 Main Street, Gloucester, will present A Friendship Forged in Revolution: St. George Tucker & John Page, from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, January 25.
Paint party
RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host a Starlight Snowman Paint Party, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. January 31. Artist Juli Schuszler will teach participants how to paint an adorable snowman to take home and display.

Murder mystery
Northumberland Public Library (NPL), 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, will host “I Love the 80s to Death,” a night of murder mystery, from 5-7 p.m. February 6. Special guests The Murder Mystery Company will bring this free program to life.
Appetizers, mocktails and suspense await. Sign up at NPL for this free event for all ages and come dressed in a favorite 80s outfit.
Widows support
A Space for Healing, Widows Support Group will meet from 1-4 p.m. on second Fridays at Northumberland Public Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.
Come for the support and camaraderie of others who may have walked the path, enjoy fellowship, games, light snacks and beverages.
Book talk
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum will host a book talk and signing at 6:30 p.m. February 2 at the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, 119 Main Street, Reedville.
Participants will include Tom Briggs, author of War on the Inland Sea, and author Susan Swift and illustrator Heather Cockrell of The ABCs of Oystering on the Chesapeake Bay.
Pruning
The Gloucester Master Gardeners will present a free informational session on pruning at 10 a.m. February 28 at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, 7900 Daffodil Lane, Gloucester. No registration is required.
Book signing
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum will host a book talk and signing at 6:30 p.m. March 3 at the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, 119 Main Street, Reedville. The featured guest will be Joseph W. Smith, author of Menhaden.
