The Lancaster Players will present “The 39 Steps: A Live Radio Play” at The Lancaster Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone. Shows are slated at 8 p.m. March 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26, as well as 3 p.m. March 13 and 20. The theater will open an hour prior to each performance.

Quilters

The Rivah Quilt Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. Kay Vincent, a color certified instructor, will present “An Invitation to Color Confidence.”

Visitors of all skill levels are invited and welcome to attend the meeting.

Jazz concert

Concerts By The Bay 2021-22 season will continue March 12 with Capital Focus Jazz Band. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at the Mathews High School Harry M. Ward Auditorium, 9889 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews.

Admission is by season subscription; or single performance ticket, $25 at the door. Students are admitted free.

Country breakfast

Lancaster Union Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. will serve an all-you-can-eat country breakfast from 7-10 a.m. on second Saturdays, at the Lodge, 48 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. The fee is $10. Ages 8 and younger eat free.

The menu will include fluffy scrambled eggs (fried eggs on request), pancakes (blueberry and plain), biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage links, bacon, cheesy grits, home-fried potatoes, fried apples, warm syrup, fruit cocktail, coffee, tea, juice and milk. Orders to go available also.

Fiber guild

The Five Rivers Fiber Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

Dinner/dance

The 28th annual Knights of Columbus St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance will be held March 19 at the Piankatank River Golf Club Steamboat Restaurant in Hartfield.

A cash bar will open at 5:30 p.m., dinner buffet at 6:30 p.m. and dancing to a DJ at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person; reservations only. For reservations, call 776-0078.

Gardening

Gardening in the Northern Neck, hosted by the Northern Neck Master Gardeners, will be held March 26 at the White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone. The theme will be “Landscape, Viewscape, Escape!”

The event features speakers and vendors. The seminar fee is $50. Registration forms are at www.nnmg.org.

Oyster roast

Mary Ball Washington Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge will hold an oyster roast from 2-5 p.m. March 27 at 838 Long Point Lane in Topping. The fee is $40 per person, prepaid.
