Rivah Quilters

The Rivah Quilters will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 435 East Church Street, Kilmarnock. New members are welcome.

Activities will include a gift basket raffle; show and tell; a program event, speaker or demonstration; and lunch.

RCA concert

The Rappahannock Concert Association will present the Two Rivers Chamber Music Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Northumberland County School Complex, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville. The quartet plays an extensive repertoire from Bach and Mozart to the Beatles and film scores.

Admission is by season subscription, a Pick 3 subscription for the remaining concerts for $60, or $25 for the single performance. Purchase tickets at 888-210-8006 rappahannockconcerts.org, or the door. Students are admitted at no charge.

Spring Fling

The Northumberland County Community Center Organization, 679 Browns Store Road, Heathsville, will host April Spring Fling 70s Dance from 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday, April 13. DJ Slim will provide the music.

Virtual genealogy

The Middle Peninsula African-American Genealogical and Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting virtually at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13. This meeting will feature a roundtable discussion and participants will have a chance to share queries and details about their family research.

Gardening seminar

The Northern Neck Master Gardeners (NNMG) Association will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Gardening in the Northern Neck Seminar (GNN) on Saturday, April 13. The seminar will be held at Lancaster Elementary School, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.

The theme will be “Creating Outdoor Spaces—Defining Your Lifestyle.” The seminar fee is $50. Lunches will be available for an additional fee. Registration forms are available at www.nnmg.org.

Kirkin’

The Kirkin’ of the Tartan service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems.

The Rev. Kimberly B. Glenn, rector, Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. The Kilmarnock & District Pipe Band will assist in the program and St. Andrew’s Society of Williamsburg will provide the color guard.

Annual tea

The Northumberland Homemakers Club will host a tea and silent auction to benefit the 4-H summer camp scholarship fund at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, at St. Stephens Church in Heathsville. The suggested donation is $25.

Potluck dinner

Bluff Point Community League, 2595 Bluff Point Road, Kilmarnock, will hold a potluck dinner Monday, April 15. Social time will begin at 6 p.m.; dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Bring a dish to share.

Paul Sciacchitano, a member of the Lancaster 2035 Committee, will be the after-dinner speaker. He will talk about the issue of a limited workforce and a plan to make the area more attractive to a working-age population.

Evening of Hope

An Evening of Hope, celebrating the LINK’s 12 years of service, will be held from 6-8 p.m. April 20 at the White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone.

The event will include refreshments, fellowship, testimonies, an informative program and special music by Alabaster Grace. Tickets $40 each and are available from EventBrite.com; put “Evening of Hope” into the website’s search window.

Diamonds & Denim

The Healthy Harvest Food Bank, 55 Commerce Drive, Warsaw, will host the Diamonds & Denim Gala/Auction from 4-9 p.m. April 27.

Admission is $75 per person and includes beer, wine, signature drinks, dinner and dessert from Willaby’s, music by The Haus Band and a silent auction. Purchase tickets at hhfb.org.

Kids’ night

The Steamboat Era Museum, 156 King Carter Drive, Irvington, will present a children’s program, “Night at the Museum,” from 5-9 p.m. April 27.

The itinerary features a showing of “The Night at the Museum” movie with popcorn, a pizza dinner, scavenger hunt, games and a craft for ages 7-12. The fee is $25. Register at www.steamboateramuseum.org.

Wren Masters

The Wren Masters, a baroque quartet from Williamsburg, will return to Historic Christ Church in Weems on April 27. The quartet will present “Baroque with a French Twist” at 4 p.m.
