Evening of Hope

An Evening of Hope, celebrating the LINK’s 12 years of service, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone.

The event will include refreshments, fellowship, testimonies, an informative program and special music by Alabaster Grace. Tickets $40 each and are available from EventBrite.com; put “Evening of Hope” into the website’s search window.

Hands on history

Stratford Hall Historic Preserve will host Hands on History Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 20 at Stratford Hall, 483 Great House Road, Stratford. Spend the day exploring the historic area while participating in special activities provided by Stratford’s education and interpretive staff.

Tickets are $15 for ages 19 and older, $9 for ages 6-18, and free for Stratford members and ages 5 and younger. Purchase advance tickets at stratfordhall.org.

On Stage

The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts 2023-24 season will continue Saturday, April 20, with The Soul Expressions Band—The Motown Show.

Tabbs Creek

Tabbs Creek residents are invited to the Tabbs Creek Civic Association annual meeting Saturday, April 20, at White Stone Methodist Church, 118 Methodist Church Road, White Stone. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m., the meeting will follow at 10 a.m.

Murder mystery

The Lancaster Community Library (LCL) will host a Murder Mystery Gala Among the Stacks April 26. “A Deadly Draw: A Monte Carlo Murder Mystery” will begin at 6 p.m. at the LCL, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

Diamonds & Denim

The Healthy Harvest Food Bank, 55 Commerce Drive, Warsaw, will host the Diamonds & Denim Gala/Auction from 4-9 p.m. April 27.

Admission is $75 per person and includes beer, wine, signature drinks, dinner and dessert from Willaby’s, music by The Haus Band and a silent auction. Purchase tickets at hhfb.org.

Wren Masters

The Wren Masters, a baroque quartet from Williamsburg, will return to Historic Christ Church in Weems on April 27. The quartet will present “Baroque with a French Twist” at 4 p.m.

Dragon Run

The Friends of Dragon Run (FODR) will conduct a Zoom meeting at 7 p.m. April 28. For a Zoom link, visit DragonRun.org.

Clint Morgeson, a regional aquatics manager for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), will discuss invasive aquatic species introduction in Virginia and will review past, present, and future invasive species management. He also will cover some of DWR’s history and management of aquatic invasive fish species, especially in eastern Virginia.

Opening day

The Northern Neck Farm Museum, 12705 Northumberland Highway, Horse Head, will celebrate opening day 2024 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 4. The public is invited to come see the museum’s new classroom, antique tractors, sawmill and community garden managed by the Northern Neck Master Gardeners.
