Rotary meetings
The Northern Neck Rotary Club meets at 7:30 a.m. on second and fourth Wednesdays at River Counties Community Foundation, 834 Rappahannock Drive, White Stone. Those interested in the speaker topics or Rotary are welcome.
Unearthing history
Archaeologist Dr. Julia King on June 29 will speak on the Rappahannock Tribe and Bacon’s Rebellion. The presentation will begin at 4 p.m. at the Old Middlesex County Courthouse, 865 General Puller Highway, Saluda.
King will discuss her recent archaeological work in the Dragon Swamp. The program is sponsored by the Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society.
Win a quilt
The American Legion Adams Post 86 Ladies Auxiliary is conducting a raffle of a hand-embroidered king/queen size quilt. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
Tickets may be purchased from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 26 and 27 in front of Tri-Star Supermarket, 81 Irvington Road, Kilmarnock, or from any auxiliary member. A drawing will be held on September 16.
Post 86
American Legion Adams Post 86 meets at 5 p.m. on third Tuesdays at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.
Wedding gowns
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, 504 Main Street, Reedville, requests your presence at “With This Ring” – a display of vintage wedding gowns and accessories on view in the Walker House through June 29.
Museum hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. Admission, which includes the Walker House and all other inside and outside exhibits, is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and veterans, and free for ages 16 and younger as well as active military members.
Parade time
The Town of Irvington will hold its annual 4th of July Hometown Parade at 11 a.m. July 4 along King Carter Drive, Irvington.

Family Fun Day
The Friends of Northumberland County Animal Shelter will sponsor a Family Fun Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 12 at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. Please leave furry friends at home, adoptable animals are eager to meet everyone.
Activities will include a free bounce house, face painting with a minimum $5 donation, a scavenger hunt with prizes and raffles. Snow cones, hot dogs and popcorn will be available for purchase.
Poker run
The Northern Neck Rotary recently announced the 2025 Poker Run will be held July 12 on the Rappahannock River. Top prize is $5,000; second place, $1,000; and third, $500.

Yoga trip
Registration has begun for InsideOut Yoga’s (IOY) retreat to Italy October 12-19, 2025. The theme will be “I Feel You” and is a sumptuous experience for mind, body and spirit at Locanda del Gallo in the heart of Umbria, an Italian region bordering Tuscany, known for its medieval hill towns, dense forests and local cuisine.
