The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts On Stage 2025-26 season subscriptions are available at a discount, $175 for five shows, if reserved by Friday, July 11. Call Donna McGrath, at 438-5555. The price will increase to $190 after July 11.
Shows include Magic of Michael Grandinetti, October 18; South for Winer, November 15; Kings Return, December 13; Scythian, February 28; and Camerata Royal Consertgebouw Orchestra, May 3. Concerts will be held at the Lancaster Elementary School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
Genealogy meeting

Marvin Tupper Jones, executive director of the Chowan Discovery Group (CDG), will present “Haiti and the Civil War.” The CDG is a research, documentation, preservation and presentation organization.
Family Fun Day
The Friends of Northumberland County Animal Shelter will sponsor a Family Fun Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. Please leave furry friends at home, adoptable animals are eager to meet everyone.
Activities will include a free bounce house, face painting with a minimum $5 donation, a scavenger hunt with prizes and raffles. Snow cones, hot dogs and popcorn will be available for purchase.
Post 86
American Legion Adams Post 86 will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.
A special secession will be held to nominate and elect officers for the upcoming year and to vote on the distribution of funds for fiscal year 2026.

Family reunion
The descendants of Dandridge W. and Naomi Bush Cockrell will hold their 41st family reunion July 19 at Lebanon Baptist Church, 20 Alfonso Road, Lancaster.

First African Day
First African Day will be observed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. July 26 at Stratford Hall Preserve, 483 Great House Road, Stratford.
The celebration will include dance performances, culinary demonstrations, music, art, tours, storytellers and at 3 p.m., a presentation by 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner Dr. Edda L. Fields-Black.
Rotary meetings
The Northern Neck Rotary Club meets at 7:30 a.m. on second and fourth Wednesdays at River Counties Community Foundation, 834 Rappahannock Drive, White Stone. Those interested in the speaker topics or Rotary are welcome.
Theater camp
Registration has opened for The Lancaster Players Youth Theater Workshop August 4 through 9, for ages 8-18. Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. August 3 at The Lancaster Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone, to ascertain individual skill levels allowing instructors to tailor the workshop to the skills of the participants.
