Music on the Half Shell Stage
The Music on the Half Shell Stage concert series will continue from 7-9:30 p.m. tonight, August 17, at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. The Mullins Sisters will perform country classics, hits and original music.
Admission is by season pass or individual show tickets, $10 each. Tickets will be sold at kilmarnockva.ticketleap.com and at the door.
Splash of Summer
The Splash of Summer Event, hosted by Addy’s Colors, will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, August 19, at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
The event will feature food trucks, a magic show, balloon twisting, a bounce house, firetruck, police car, sensory tent, mermaid/splash pad, vendors, Addy’s Colors 2024 calendar artwork forms and cook book recipe drop box. Crab festival
The Steamboat Era Museum will hold the 12th annual Irvington Crab Festival from 4-8 p.m. September 16, on the Irvington Town Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, Irvington. The $75 admission includes all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, barbecue, hot dogs and soft drinks. Crabs will be served starting at 5 p.m. All other food and beverages will be available at 4 p.m. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for $5.

Bingo for Quilts
The Tavern Quilt Guild will hold Bingo for Quilts at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19, at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.
Players may buy packets of 15 bingo sheets plus four special games for $25, and enjoy the excitement of an old-fashioned game of bingo. All prizes are quilted items made by guild members.
Summer Saturday
Stratford Hall, 483 Great House Road, Stratford, will offer special programming from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 19. Learn about various facets of the 18th century from museum staff through paleontology, archaeology, collections and preservation demonstrations.
General admission is $15 for adults, $9 for ages 6-13, and free for ages 5 and younger. Through Labor Day, Stratford Hall offers free admission to active military personnel, National Guard and Reserve, and up to five family members.
Bus trip
The Kilmarnock Museum, 76 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will benefit by a bus trip to Hopewell to see the Old Dominion Barn Dance show December 9, featuring Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn.

Fun & Games BBQ
The Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville will hold a “Fun & Games” BBQ fundraiser from 3-6 p.m. September 30. The menu will include pulled pork, chicken and sausage, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, appetizers, desserts and soft drinks. Beer and wine will be sold separately.
Games will include corn hole or badminton; Hard to Tell will provide the music. The fee is $35. Tickets are available at the Tavern Gift Shoppe from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, or www.rhhtfoundationinc.org.
Crab feast
The Northumberland County Community Center Organization (NCCCO) will hold a crab feast from 2-6 p.m. September 2 at the NCCCO building, 679 Browns Store Road, Heathsville. The menu will include all you can eat crabs, fried chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, homemade soups and salad. Beer and wine will be available for an additional fee.

Raise the Roof
Historic Christ Church & Museum, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems, invites the community to its eighth annual Raise the Roof fall festival from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, September 23. The event features two bands, Virginia craft beers, wine, barbecue (or vegetarian fare) and homemade ice cream.
