Paint night

The RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host an adult paint session from 6-8 p.m. tonight, August 28. The project will be Dancing Dragon Flies.

Aquapalooza 2025

Aquapalooza will be held from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, August 30, off the Morris-Fisher Stack on Cockrell Creek. The concert will feature The Porch Gliders.

Annual meeting

 The Friends of Northumberland Public Library will hold its annual meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 4, at the library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.

This meeting is a great opportunity for anyone interested in joining the Friends board to see and hear what the group is all about. An overview of past accomplishments will be given.

Wine & Whiskers

Garfield’s Rescue Inc. will hold a Wine & Whiskers gala from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 4, at Trinity Episcopal Church Pavilion, 8484 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster.

Documentary

The film, “Been Here, Stay Here,” chronicles Tangier Island’s struggle against climate change. “Been Here, Stay Here” will be featured September 5-11 at Compass Cinema Six, 100 Entertainment Drive, Irvington. Tickets are available at compassentertainmentcomplex.com.

Crab feast

The Morattico Waterfront Museum (MWM), 6584 Morattico Road, Morattico, will host its 13th annual Crab Feast from 3-5 p.m. September 13. The menu will include all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, hot dogs, sides, desserts, and soft drinks. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Crab feast tickets are $50 for adults, $10 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and younger. Purchase tickets by September 6 from MWM board members, or Connie Conley, mwmva03@gmail.com, 761-6213.

Music festival

The Northern Neck Beach Music Festival will be held from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. September 13 and 14 at Town Hill Park in Colonial Beach. The lineup brings a mix of “Jimmy Buffet,” Motown, Carolina beach music and rhythm and blues.

Early Bird tickets are on sale through September 1. A two-day ticket $50 per person; a Saturday only ticket is $25, a Sunday ticket is $35; and younger than 12, $15. Purchase tickets at https://givebutter.com/nnbeachmusic2025.

NNO tickets

Tickets are on sale for the Northern Neck Orchestra’s 2025-26 season. Five concerts are scheduled at the Lancaster Elementary School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.

Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts On Stage season tickets are on sale. Five shows are planned at the Lancaster Elementary School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock, for the “Magical Medleys” series.

Floral Fantasies

The Kilmarnock Garden Club will host Floral Fantasies with Kathy Ward at 11 a.m. October 21 at Historic Christ Church in Weems. Ward will create Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s floral fantasies.

American Legion Adams Post 86 meets at 5 p.m. on third Tuesdays at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.
