Family Fun Night

Northumberland Public Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, will hold a Fall Family Fun Night from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 12.

This event is for all ages and features, games, goodie bags and activities to take home. The event will be help rain or shine.

Country breakfast

Lancaster Union Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. will serve an all-you-can-eat country breakfast from 7-10 a.m. on second Saturdays, at the Lodge, 48 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. The fee is $10. Ages 8 and younger eat free.

The menu will include fluffy scrambled eggs (fried eggs on request), pancakes (blueberry and plain), biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage links, bacon, cheesy grits, home-fried potatoes, fried apples, warm syrup, fruit cocktail, coffee, tea, juice and milk. Orders to go available also.

Oyster dinner

Chesapeake Academy will host a Shuck-It Bucket drive-through dinner from 4-6 p.m. November 20 on the Rowe Campus, 107 Steamboat Road, Irvington. The bucket is a steamer pot filled with shelled and raw oysters, shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes and a spice kit for grill, stove or fire.

The bucket for two is $75. Purchase tickets at www.chesapeakeacademy.org or by mail with payment to Chesapeake Academy, P.O. Box 8, Irvington, VA  22480.

Santa’s Village

Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host Santa’s Village, a Christmas-themed, mini North Pole, on December 3. At each of six tents, families will find an activity and goodie to take home. There will be photo opportunities with Santa.

This is a ticketed event with a $10 per child and $15 per adult charge. Tickets are on sale now and can only be purchased at kilmarnockva.ticketleap.com.

Quilt raffle

Adams Post 86 American Legion in Kilmarnock is raffling a quilt. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. A drawing will be held December 4.

Tickets may be purchased by calling Heather at 436-7466 and from any Auxiliary members.

Children’s shopping

The Golden Village Christmas at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville, will offer gift shopping for children from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. December 4. Ages 4-12 are invited to do their own special gift shopping for $1 a gift.  In response to continuing COVID-19 health concerns, children’s shopping will be by appointment only, call 804-580-3377. Children will be required to wear masks.

Donations of new and gently-used gifts are needed for the children’s shopping area. Donations may be brought from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays or call 804-580-3377.

Festival of Trees

The 24th annual Festival of Trees fundraising event to benefit the Northern Neck family YMCA Guardian Program will be held virtually at 7 p.m. December 4. The $50 ticket includes a virtual live auction and choice of surf and turf, or vegetarian dinner to be picked up from 4:30-6:30 p.m. December 4 at Willaby’s Café, 327 Old Ferry Road, White Stone.

Patrons may purchase a ticket, view both the live and silent auction items and register for a bidding number at ymcavp.org/fot. An online silent auction will open November 26. Patrons do not need festival tickets to participate in the virtual silent auction, but they will need a bid number.

Rotary Club

The Northern Neck Rotary Club has a new home, Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck, 517 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. The club meets at 7:30 a.m. second and fourth Wednesdays.
