Bus trip

A few seats are available on the bus trip to see the Old Dominion Barn Dance Christmas Show at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at the Beacon Theatre in Hopewell.

Cajun Christmas

The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts On Stage series will feature BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet and a Cajun Christmas Saturday, December 9, at Lancaster Elementary School, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock. Doors will open at 7 p.m. The show will start at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is by season subscription, or $45. For tickets, call 438-5555.

Community Christmas

Ma Margaret’s House Bed & Breakfast, 240 Greenfield Road, Reedville, will host its third annual Community Christmas Event featuring Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Enjoy hot cocoa, games, hayrides, music and family fun. Most of all, don’t miss the lighting of the Christmas tree. The event is from 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9. 

Santa visit

Bethany United Methodist Church, 454 Main Street, and Reedville Fishermen’s Museum (RFM), 504 Main Street, on Saturday, December 9, will welcome Santa to Reedville. Santa will arrive at the RFM dock on Cockrell Creek aboard the Elva C at 9 a.m. He will be joined by his friend Buddy the Elf and the Conductor from the Polar Express.

 A pancake breakfast, crafts, photos and the running of the holiday trains in the RFM Model Shop will follow his arrival. Families are urged to RSVP by December 3 to [email protected] so the elves make enough pancakes. Activities are sponsored by Lilian Lumber Co.

ν Toys for Tots

A Toys for Tots “Stuff the Truck” event will be held from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at Walmart, 200 Old Fairgrounds Way, Kilmarnock. 

Cobbs Hall luncheon

The Cobbs Hall Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 11, at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury, 132 Lancaster Drive, Irvington.

The program will include entertainment by musician Timothy Seaman. The fee is $40 per person, including the luncheon and program. For reservations, call Catherine Bennett, 761-3234.

Annual luncheon

The Woman’s Club of Northumberland County, 2928 Northumberland Highway, Lottsburg, will hold its annual luncheon and holiday party December 12. Members will begin gathering at 11:30 a.m., the luncheon will begin at noon. 

A business meeting will follow the meal. Members are reminded to bring a dish to share.
