The Bluff Point Community League will hold a creative Oyster Shell Decorating class from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at Bluff Point Graded School #3, 2595 Bluff Point Road, Kilmarnock.

Shoreline planting
The Northern Neck Master Gardeners Shoreline Evaluation Program will present “Planting for Success: Best Choices for Shoreline Protection” from 2-3:30 p.m. October 3 at the Bayne Center, Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems.

Boots and barbecue
Boots and Barbecue, to benefit the Northern Neck Land Conservancy, will be held from 1-4 p.m. October 4 at Wheatland on the Rappahannock River in Essex County. Tickets are $50. Purchase tickets at nnconserve.org, or call 250-2334.
The event will include fried oysters, barbecue, cool beverages, music and presentations by the Patawomeck Tribe, the Northern Neck Beekeepers and the Steamboat Era Museum.
Chamber concert
Rappahannock Concert Association will present Trio Confero at 7:30 p.m. October 11 at the Performing Arts Theater, Northumberland County School Complex, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville.

It’s magic
The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts On Stage season will open October 18 with The Magic of Michael Grandinetti. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Lancaster Elementary School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.

History trip
Lancaster Virginia Historical Society will sponsor a tour October 20 to the Virginia Museum of History & Culture and Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond. Carpooling from Lancaster is encouraged.
The fee is $100 for members and $115 for others, and includes museum admission, a narrated trolly tour of the cemetery, lunch and gratuities. Registration by September 26 at 462-7280 or history@lancastervahistory.org.
Floral Fantasies
The Kilmarnock Garden Club will host Floral Fantasies with Kathy Ward at 11 a.m. October 21 at Historic Christ Church in Weems. Ward will create Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s floral fantasies.

Power of Pink
Bon Secours RGH will host Power of Pink, breast cancer awareness event, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. October 21 at White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone.
