Varsity softball is a learning experience for Lancaster 11

The Lancaster High School varsity softball team has not gotten off to the start coach Bruce Northern would have liked, but its not surprising considering he fields a very young and inexperienced team.

“We only have three seniors so we’re really young and we’re still learning,” he said. “We have six or seven players that have never played in a varsity game until this year and there’s a big difference between JV and varsity.”

The numbers are down and the LHS softball program was unable to field a junior varsity team this year, so Northern’s team of 11 includes six sophomores.

“The good news is because I only have 11 players, everyone is getting playing time,” said Northern….
