Affordable water testing will be offered in October through Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) offices in Northumberland, Lancaster, Richmond and Westmoreland counties. Participation is voluntary.
Water samples collected by participating homeowners will be analyzed for 28 parameters, including bacteria, metals, nitrate and hardness, reported VCE agent R. Trent Jones. The fee is $70.
