REEDVILLE—Vernon Forrest Brann, 86, of Reedville, departed this life December 11, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Lawson Brann; mother, Lillian “Lillie” Elizabeth Brann; brother, Vincent Lawson Brann; and sister, Elva Juanita Lohmeyer.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth McNeal Brann; son, Forrest McNeal Brann (Robyn); daughter, Elizabeth “Libbie” Brann Mitchell (Kirk); four grandchildren, Nathanael, Ellie, Justin and Lauren; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jordan and Saylor; sister, Shirley Brann Beatley; and special as a brother, a cousin, Eugene Forrest; and five nieces and nephews, Veda, Douglas, Andrea, Valerie and Felicia.
Vernon was a member of Tibitha Church of God and a member of Reedville AFAM Lodge, the Scottish Rites and ACCA Shriners. He was manager of two menhaden plants and a retired fish boat pilot for Omega Protein.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, at Tibitha Church of God, Reedville. Interment followed the service at Roseland Cemetery. Family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 16, at the church.
