Veterans celebration May 26 features visit by Gen. Patton

KILMARNOCK—General Patton will be at Commonwealth Senior Living May 26 to meet and greet veterans of all wars.

Patton, portrayed by Tim Beasley of Virginia Beach, will arrive by a military convoy of antique army vehicles at 11 a.m., reported Carroll Lee Ashburn.

Several color guards led by the Knights of Columbus will present colors as taps is played to get the special vets day started. A picnic lunch will follow with a special guest performance by Frank Sinatra, also Beasley, “the man of a thousand faces,” said Ashburn.

There also will be vendors displaying military artifacts from the Revolutionary War through the Korean conflict.
