Every item in River Paws Vintage Market, a massive red barn on Courthouse Road in Lancaster, was handpicked for its historical significance, characteristics, or potential for restoration by the market’s owner, Susan Pearce-Ditch.
“Collecting history I think is what I’m trying to do here and share it with others that might appreciate it,” said Pearce-Ditch. “While we may not be a nickel-and-dime yard sale, it’s something where folks can come in, enjoy and maybe connect to something from their history or something that they just recognize as valuable.”
For decades, she has collected items from estate sales, thrift stores and yard sales which she said preserved a piece of history. She stored them in lockers where they gathered dust for 25 years. It wasn’t until this summer that Pearce-Ditch found an appropriate space to showcase her collection and opened the market to share her found treasures with the world…
