BURGESS—Vivian Jones Trolan, born on April 3, 1940, peacefully passed away on July 1, 2024, at the age of 84. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert L. Jones and Margaret Deihl Jones of Burgess.
Vivian was the cherished sister of Robert L. “Bobby” Jones Jr. and sister-in-law to the late Anne Marie Jones (Wigner). She was a loving aunt to Robert L. “Robbie” Jones III of Williamsburg and Kathryn Jones Humphreys of White Stone and their respective spouses, Laura Leigh Jones (Blades) and Joey Humphreys. She was also a devoted great-aunt to Logan, Zach, Andrew, Joseph and Jackie; and a great-great-aunt to Liam, Clare, Declan, newly born Collins and Jett, and soon-to-be-born Anne Marie. All of them lovingly referred to her as Vivi.
After graduating from Northumberland High School, Vivian moved to Richmond to attend business school and start her professional journey. Her career took her to Atlanta, Ga., and later to Tampa, Fla., where she was employed with The Wilson Company in commercial real estate development for over 20 years.
Upon retirement, Vivian returned to her hometown in Burgess to be close to her family. She enjoyed traveling, with memorable trips to Europe and the Caribbean islands, whether by plane or cruise ship.
Vivian’s warmth, love and kindness will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of dedication to her career and her love for her family will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Vivian’s honor.
