HEATHSVILLE—Amid recent discussions about returning the financial reigns to the Northumberland school division in fiscal year 2029, the status of a Virginia State Police (VSP) inquiry into school finances instead became a focus.
During a joint meeting on Wednesday, October 28, school board member Dana O’Bier questioned why the board of supervisors had publicly addressed the inquiry by VSP into the school finances. “We were told as a board that there wasn’t anything, and then it’s still publicly out there. I would appreciate if you’re talking about giving the finances over to the school board, that you clear the air with all that public animosity because it’s only you that can do that.”….
