Nicholas Mothershead of Lottsburg joined others hunters at Roanoke Farm in Heathsville on Saturday, September 5, the opening day of dove hunting season. The first segment of dove season statewide extends through October 28. The second segment is from November 21-29 and the third, December 24-January 19.
