UPPER MARLBORO, MD.—Walter Cecil Webb Sr. died April 4, 2017.
He was born to the late Joseph and Lucy Webb in Norfolk. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk and received a bachelor’s in mathematics from Virginia Union University and a master’s from Catholic University.
He taught at Union High School in Bowling Green and Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Md. He also coached basketball at Bishop McNamara. He later worked for AT&T, SAIC and L-3 NSS. He also tutored math students.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Highland Park, where he was a member of the Mighty Men’s Choir and the Pastor’s Partners Ministry.
Walter is survived by his wife of more than 48 years, Alice; sons, Walter C. Webb Jr. of Ashburn and Joseph Webb of Upper Marlboro; grandsons Mason Webb and Cruz Webb of Ashburn; sisters, Josephine Linyear of Chesapeake and Laura Smith of Temple Hills, Md.
A service was held April 19 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Wicomico Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
