WINDMILL POINT—For many residents and visitors in the Northern Neck, the water that surrounds it can be beautiful to look at, but sometimes difficult to reach.

Lancaster supervisors on Friday, November 14, unveiled a restored and revitalized Westland Beach at Windmill Point, the first of four upcoming waterfront projects that will make good on promises to improve waterfront access for all.
Vice-chairman Jason Bellows said the new park is “more than a beautiful place, it’s a promise. A promise to protect our natural heritage, to educate future generations and to inspire all who visit to see the water not just as a view, but as a living ecosystem that sustains us.” Bellows encouraged the group gathered for the ribbon cutting to “take in the view, to listen to the wind and waves, and….
