White Stone appoints new town attorney, Matson Terry retires

WHITE STONE —White Stone has a new town attorney.

Following an executive session at the November 7 meeting, council voted unanimously, 6-0, to appoint Matthew B. Gayle with Hubbard & Haynie P.C. to replace Matson Terry, who served as the town attorney from January 6, 2005, until July 2024. Terry has retired.

Gayle, who is new to the Irvington-based law firm, was appointed effective November 11 under the same terms of the town’s former agreement with Terry, who was not paid to serve.
