WHITE STONE—The White Stone Town Council took care of a few housekeeping matters related to the budget, COVID-19 crisis and business requests at its July 2 meeting.
After approving a $214,250 budget for 2020-21 in June, council last week voted unanimously, 6-0, to appropriate funds towards estimated expenditures. Voting for the ordinance were William Hubbard, Jamilah Sawyer, Kathryn “Scotty” Roop, Melinda Sliakis George, Irving Brittingham and new council member AnnGardner Eubank. Councilman Ran Reeves arrived after the vote.
Council also approved separate requests from two businesses to be added to the town’s pump and hall sewage list. Rocket Billy’s, 851 Rappahannock Drive, and Miss Mary Seafood, 758 Rappahannock Drive, will now be added to the town’s pump and haul permit, which is required by the health department.
