WHITE STONE—White Stone residents will have to purchase town vehicle tags for at least another year. That was the consensus following a brief discussion at the White Stone Town Council meeting Thursday, February 5.
There was some discussion several months ago about eliminating the vehicle tag sales this year, town clerk Melinda Sliakis George told council. However, $3,800 was projected in this year’s budget from tag sales, said town manager Patrick Frere.
“Is it really worth our trouble doing these tags anymore?” said councilman Randy Reeves.
According to George, some 175 tags were sold in 2025, enough for about half of the vehicles within town limits. “There are people who are pretty faithful with [purchasing them],” said George. The major complaint she has heard is about enforcement, with many saying they purchase the tags but neighbors don’t and….
