VIRGINIA BEACH—William “Bill” Parker Jenkins Jr., 53, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2020.
Bill was a native of the Northern Neck and was the son of the late William and Catherine Jenkins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department as an MPO.
Bill had been a lifelong commercial fisherman, a charter boat captain and the owner of Captain’s Choice Seafood Market. He was an advisor to the Chesapeake Bay Advisory Committee, and was a representative for local watermen interests.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Helen Jenkins; two sons, Brandon M. Jenkins and Brent A. Jenkins; three stepchildren, Rachel Doss, Emma Schmitt, and Collin Schmitt; a sister, Lisa Gale and her husband, Tom; a half sister, Cheryl Fogarty; two grandchildren, Dorothy Doss and Andon Doss; as well as several extended family members and good friends.
The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Wave Church, 1000 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, with his funeral service to begin at 2 p.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements.
