KILMARNOCK—William H. “Bill” Smith Jr., 80, of Kilmarnock passed away February 17, 2020.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Lackert Smith; sons, William R. Smith (Linda) of Georgia, Stephen Smith (Terry) of Weems and Brian Smith of Colorado; daughter, Deborah Smith of Weems; grandchildren, Tim Smith, Samantha Kuehler (Daniel), Matthew Smith (Virginia), Sarah Smith, Ryan Smith and Devonte Taylor; great-grandchildren, Mia Smith, Leo Taylor, R.J. Smith, Addison Lee Smith and Delaney Rae Smith; sisters, Jean Ellen Oquinn (Mike) of Tappahannock and Barbara Smith of Callao; brother, Leroy Smith (Katherine) of Callao; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Smith Sr. and Margaret Connor Smith; and brothers, Albert Smith and James L. Smith.
Bill started working at Tides Inn at the age of 13 and continued there for over 50 years. He will always be remembered for his smile and laughter and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 29, at Wesley Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Weems.
