WEEMS—William I. “Bill” Kellum, 75, of Weems passed away October 23, 2022. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Lumpkin; and her children and grandchildren, Collin Lumpkin (Tracie) and Noah and Myles, and Bonnie Herndon (Dale) and Madison and Olivia; sons, Thomas E. Kellum (Lynn) and W. Jeffrey Kellum (Emily); grandchildren, William M. “Will” Kellum (Paige), Hannah K. Herbert (Chance), Elizabeth Anne Kellum, Logan Ellery Kellum, Reghan Thomas and Paisley King; great-grandson, Cohen Herbert; twin brother, Joseph A. Kellum (Linda); sisters, Bertie Bryant and Debbie Hardwick; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ellery Kellum and Rubinette Kellum; wife of 39 years, Hope Jackson Kellum; and brothers, Curtis Kellum and James Kellum.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of Lancaster High School and DeVry Institute of Technology.
He retired from W. E. Kellum Inc in 1996. He then became owner/operator of W. I. Kellum Trucking.
He was a lifelong member of Claybrook Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school director. He also served on numerous seafood organizations.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 28, at Claybrook Baptist Church, Weems. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 27, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
