Winfield C. Talley

LANCASTER—Winfield Cosby Talley, 87, of Lancaster passed away on March 15, 2019. He was born on September 2, 1931 in Silver Spring, Md. He was an auto mechanic and pastor.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Steele Talley; children, Alice T. Coates (Jimmy) of Lively, Martha T. Wilson (John) of Denton, Md., Winfield W. Talley of Lancaster and Marjorie T. Lampkin (Billy) of Regina; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria T. Stover (Jack) of Wheaton, Md.; and many nieces; nephews; and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland W. Talley and Josephine Keyser Talley; four siblings; and a daughter-in-law.

Rev. Talley served as a spiritual leader and pastor in multiple ministry settings including chaplain in the U.S. Army and his most recent, and closest to his heart, Historic White Marsh Church, Lancaster.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Historic White Marsh Church. Interment followed the service in the church cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
