Winifred G. Christensen

CALLAO—Winifred Grace “Winnie” Christensen peacefully passed on January 2, 2018, surrounded by family in Callao.

Winnie was born on August 6, 1931, in Newton, Mass., to Murray and Margaret Wilson (Nova Scotia, Canada.)
Winnie was preceded in death by her soulmate and true love, Carl; and by her brother and close confidant, Bob Wilson.
Winnie is survived by her brother, Frank Wilson (Faith); sister-in-law, Liz Wilson, and children, Faith McInnis (David), Brenda Christensen (Victor), Eric Christensen (Guaying), Martha Rest (Edward), Karen Bond, April Christensen and Austin Christensen; grandchildren, Tracy Hoadley, Kevin McInnis, Katie Beitz, Stephanie Rest, Stacie Rest, Ethan Christensen, Brittney Ramey (Ian) and Harmony Vasquez; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Hunter, Lynsee, Gavin, Madison and Jalen.
Her family remembers her as someone who welcomed anyone to the family dinner table and conversation. She was active in her church throughout her life and believed in heavenly reunions with her Lord, friends and family.
She loved to dance, the symphony and theater, boating, bird watching and traveling the world with her husband and family.
Winnie was attuned to the world; good or bad, but had a forgiving nature and demonstrated unconditional love to all.
A Celebration of Life for Winifred (Winnie) Grace Christensen was held at noon Tuesday, January 9, at Henderson United Methodist Church, Callao.
In lieu of flowers in memory of Winifred Christensen, donations may be made to Henderson United Methodist Church Happy Meals, 72 Henderson Drive, Callao, VA 22435.
Welch Funeral Home of Warsaw handled the arrangements.
