
John Maples is the September artist of the month at the Bay School Community Arts Center, 279 Main Street, Mathews.
As a realist painter, Maples draws inspiration from a group of artists known as the Hudson River School artists, reported gallery coordinator Jennifer Schroeder. The Hudson River School Artists were a mid-19th-century American art movement led by a group of painters that painted idyllic and romantic landscapes.
Maples similarly strives to capture intricate details in his artwork and evoke a sense of connection, inviting viewers to reflect on their own memories and emotions through scenes rooted in meaningful places, experiences and object, said Schroeder…..
