Ye Olde Book Shoppe reopens in Heathsville

Customers and book donations are welcome again at Ye Olde Book Shoppe, 7072 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville. The bookshop, operated by the Northumberland Public Library, reopened Wednesday, March 9.

It was a cold, dark night when a bizarre automobile and building collision forced the closing of the bookshop on January 2.

“There was smashed cinder block, crushed drywall, broken furniture, damaged books and general mayhem to Heathsville’s beloved cultural icon and meeting place,” said library director Jane Blue. “Now after two months of repairs and refitting, we are open once again for business. What a relief!”
