YMCA Camp Kekoka Polar Bear Plunge raises $30,182 for scholarships

The YMCA Camp Kekoka Polar Bear Plunge felt a little different this year—mainly because it wasn’t so “polar.”

Postponed from a January date due to pandemic restrictions, the plunge was held Saturday, April 10, on Indian Creek at YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka, 1083 Boys Camp Road, Kilmarnock. 32 plungers, some individually and some as part of a team, agreed to “freezin’ for a reason” and raised $30,182, surpassing the goal of $25,000.

Camp executive Cassie Leichty thanks all of those who came out and helped raise enough money to send 60 kids to camp this summer.
