The YMCA Wiley Child Development Center is accepting registrations in the 3- and 4-year-old classrooms.
Early childhood should be a time of fun, security, exploring and discovery, reported senior operations director Liz Allen.
Planned within this framework, a developmentally-appropriate curriculum allows children to explore and examine their world and includes sharing and conversation, stories, songs and finger plays, creative arts and crafts activities, large muscle activities, cooking projects and exposure to shapes, numbers, colors and letters.
Teachers use learning centers in play-based curriculum to offer challenging activities in all developmental areas.
Hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 458 Harris Road, Kilmarnock. Register at the YMCA, peninsulaymca.org, or 435-0223.
