RICHMOND—Brandon Lee Bates, 37, of Richmond passed away Friday, May 18, 2018. Brandon was raised in Essex County and was a lover of the arts. He greatly enjoyed music, drama, his job at the Byrd Theatre and entertaining others. If he could find a way to make someone laugh, he would.
Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leon and Magdalane Wright and Red and Mickey Bates; and a great-grandmother, Aleen Bates.
He is survived by his fiancée, Kellie Willis; his parents, Peggy Wright Bates Wilson and Richard A. Bates (Arlene); a brother, Alan Bates (Raven); his beloved daughter, Suki Bates; and an aunt, Deborah Greenwood (Lewis).
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
