Lancaster Chamber organizes ‘Shoptober by the Bay’ event

Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce recently announced its third annual “Shoptober by the Bay” promotion during October.

Executive director Anne Paparella invites the community to participate in this shopping event with over 30 businesses in Kilmarnock, Irvington and White Stone providing exclusive savings for the month.

“The Lancaster by the Bay Chamber merchants are excited to join together to create a shopping event which highlights the unique items our businesses have to offer, while providing an opportunity to bring visitors to our area,” said Paparella.

This will be a ticketed shopping event, she said. Tickets will cost $20 and proceeds from each ticket will benefit the Special Olympics Area 28.

Last year $1,300 was donated to the Lancaster/Northumberland Relay for Life, added Paparella.

Tickets will be sold mid-September through October at Weekends, Burkes, Pearl and the Chamber office in Kilmarnock; The Box Boutique in White Stone; and the Dandelion, Objects, Fore and Aft and the Tides Inn in Irvington.

Each ticket will list all participating stores on the back with discounts and specials. All specials and discounts are to be used only once at each store. Additionally all ticket holders will be entered in a drawing to be held at the end of the month for a chance at a $500 shopping spree. The winner may divide their gift certificate anyway they see fit among the “Shoptober by the Bay” merchants.”

Along with being listed on the back of the ticket and lancasterva.com, participating retail stores will be identified with posters.

“This is the perfect opportunity to gather some friends, make your shopping list and have fun exploring the shops in Lancaster County,” said Paparella. “We are thrilled to partner with Chesapeake Bank and in supporting our local businesses with this event.”
