Steamboat Era Museum announces summer hours, children’s activities

The Steamboat Era Museum, 156 King Carter Drive, Irvington, summer hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Visitors can learn about the Steamboat Era by viewing exhibits, listening to oral histories and using the museum’s self-directed tours, reported executive director Barbara Brecher.

A “life-size” structure of the Steamer Potomac Pilothouse will give visitors an idea of the size and space the actual pilothouse will take in the museum. Construction and work on new exhibits is in process, but the museum is still fun and informative, said Brecher…
