2025 local deer kill
Hunters in Lancaster County harvested 1,115 white-tailed deer, including 428 antlered males, 102 male fawns and 585 females, or 52% of the total.
Hunters in Middlesex County harvested 674 white-tailed deer, including 267 antlered males, 74 male fawns and 333 females, or 49% of the total.
Hunters in Northumberland County harvested 1,318 white-tailed deer, including 469 antlered males, 147 male fawns and 702 females, or 53% of the total.
Wildlife biologists with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) have compiled harvest totals for the fall 2025–26 big game hunting seasons. The deer harvest increased while bear and turkey harvests declined from the previous season.
