Franklin M. Sullivan

 SHARPS—Franklin Mitchell Sullivan, 84, of Sharps passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019.  He was a retired ordinance equipment mechanic at Dahlgren Naval Service Weapons Center and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.

Franklin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Woolard Sullivan; nieces and nephews, Linda Lewis, Jean White, Deborah Gordon, Becky and Thom Davis, Carlie and Noel Woolard; sister-in-law, Hazel Woolard Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucy Sullivan; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Sullivan; a brother, James A. Sullivan Jr; and sisters, Flossie Dortzbach, Ruby Coates and Dorothy Weaver.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Reverend Kenny Park officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Interment was in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception in the church social hall followed the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8800 Historyland Highway, Warsaw, VA 22572.

Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel, of Warsaw handled the arrangements.
