LHS volleyball program opens with enthusiasm

The Lancaster High School varsity volleyball team is back on the court under the new leadership of head coach Allie Hoffman.

If Hoffman’s face is familiar, it’s because she assisted coach Keegan Walters two years ago but took the 2020 shortened season off to assume additional work assignments. She’s a social studies teacher at Lancaster High School.

“I missed it,” said Hoffman. “I was super passionate about volleyball and wanted to get involved,” she said about her move to Lancaster from Blacksburg after graduating from Virginia Tech. “Keegan was very welcoming and allowed me to assist him. He got me involved in the community and the school as well.”

Originally from Winchester, Hoffman played volleyball year round during high school on a travel ball team and helped coach….
