Sheriffs’ reports 05-14-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Remeshia Nicole Porter, 27, of Heathsville was charged May 4 with malicious wounding by mob.

Curneshia Channin Porter, 24, of Heathsville was charged May 4 with malicious wounding by mob.

Kendall Channin Anderson, 24, of White Stone was charged May 6 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of carrying a concealed weapon second offense and failure to be of peace and good behavior and obey the law.

Clifton Bernard Tomlin, 71, of Burgess was charged May 7 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of grand larceny.

John Richard Martin, 34, of Lancaster was charged May 10 with assault on law enforcement officer, obstructing justice and three counts of transporting a child without child restraint device (summons).

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 36, was charged May 5 with failure to appear in Salem Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court April 25.

A Lancaster man, 66, was charged May 8 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Activity report

May 4: Staff responded to the 400 block of Boys Camp Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 4000 block of Morattico Road for legal advice, and to the 2000 block of Mary Ball Road for a verbal dispute.

May 5: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Irvington Road for suspicious activity, to Weems and Christ Church roads for littering, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a scam, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats, to the 300 block of Tammy Drive for a juvenile complaint, to the 900 block of Merry Point Road for threats, and to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road for a wanted person.

May 6: Staff responded to the 16000 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 800 block of Pinckardsville Road for gunshots in the late evening hours.

May 7: Staff responded to the 500 block of Queenstown Road for a downed tree, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a wanted person, and to the 1600 block of Morattico Road for a disabled vehicle.

May 8: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Jessie Dupont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

May 9: Staff responded to Black Stump Road for gunshots, and to the 200 block of Marina Road for gunshots.

May 10: Staff responded to the 900 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a multiple-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 2000 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a disabled vehicle.

Staff also conducted 35 traffic stops, issued 18 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled three requests for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged three inmate transports, received nine E911 hang up calls, and handled four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on Crab Point Road and with Kilmarnock VFD to a brush fire on Old Mill Cove.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to two separate traffic crashes on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on White Chapel Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 10 individuals.

Felonies

Travis Trane Hatton, 38, of Farnham was charged May 28 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for making a false statement on a criminal history consent form.

Rebecca Lynn Foley, 53, of King George was charged May 1 on a warrant of arrest for extradition from the state of Alabama. The charge was interference with custody.

Alvin Maurice Brown, 46, of Reedville was charged May 2 with possession of a Schedule I/II drug. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and being intoxicated in public.

Desmond Brice O’Neal Wiggins, 20, of Lottsburg was charged May 5 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court with five counts of selling/providing resale of a Schedule I/II drug.

Mark Anthony Thompson, 49, of Callao was charged May 5 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for having a suspended sentence and showing cause why suspended sentence should not be revoked.

William Larry Vanlandingham, 75, of Lottsburg was charged May 7 on a warrant of arrest for extradition to North Carolina for charges of statutory sex offense with a child and indecent liberties with a child less than 15 years old.

Nathan Lewis Emminizer, 76, of Heathsville was charged May 8 with two felony counts of committing aggravated sexual battery by abusing a child less than 13 years of age.

Jason Owen Denton, 42, of Callao was charged May 10 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for felony charges of abduction by force/intimidation, possession of a weapon and ammo by a convicted felon and possessing or transporting a weapon by a violent felon.

Misdemeanors

A Callao woman, 29, was charged May 28 on a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for showing cause why her suspended time should not be revoked.

A Callao man, 46, was charged May 28 on a Lancaster County warrant for shoplifting at the Wal-Mart in Kilmarnock.
