LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, May 8, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Carrie M. Crowell of Weems, charged with a felony for unauthorized use of a vehicle, a trial was scheduled for May 22.
In the case of Derek A. Shipman of Lancaster, charged with a misdemeanor for DWI, first offense, blood alcohol .15 -.20%, a hearing was scheduled for June 26.
In the case of David C. Taylor of White Stone, charged with a felony for destruction of property, a trial was scheduled for June 12.
Justin W. Wilmouth of Lancaster pleaded no contest to a felony for violating probation. He was given a four-year, three-month suspended sentence with an additional 12 months of probation.
In the case of Joshua L. Tice of Kilmarnock, appealing a Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court felony conviction of unauthorized use of a vehicle, a status hearing was scheduled for July 24. Tice also is charged with a felony for violating probation. A status hearing on that charge also is scheduled for July 24.
In the case of Rosa M. Turner of Smithfield, charged with two felonies for violating probation, a status hearing was continued by defense motion to May 22.
In the case of Kendall C. Anderson of White Stone, charged with a felony for violating probation, a status hearing was scheduled for May 22.
In the case of Wendy D. Smith of White Stone, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction of refusing a breathalyzer, subsequent within 10 years, a trial was scheduled for June 12.
Matthew L. Abbott of Lancaster was found guilty of a felony for destruction of property and an amended charged of misdemeanor for assault and battery. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 24. Abbott was acquitted of a felony for entering a house to commit assault and battery.
In the case of Anthony J. Germaine of Lancaster, appealing a General District Court civil conviction for refusing a breathalyzer, a trial was scheduled for August 13.
Alexzandra D. Hosmer of Urbanna pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for stalking with fear of death/assault. She was given a 12-month suspended sentence. A felony charge for threats in writing was nolle prossed.
In the case of Andre M. Jones of Lancaster, charged with a felony for assault on a law enforcement officer, a trial was continued and a status hearing was scheduled for June 12.
In the case of Ryan D. Smith of Lancaster, charged with felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II substance and possession of a gun with a Schedule I/II substance, a trial was continued by the defense until July 10.
Hannibal R. Tyler-El of Burgess was found guilty of a felony for DWI, previous related felony conviction; a felony for driving with a revoked license due to DWI; and a misdemeanor for operating a vehicle without ignition interlock. Sentencing was scheduled for August 14. Two additional charges—a felony for driving on a suspended license, second offense and a misdemeanor for unauthorized possession of an inspection sticker—were dismissed.
William M. Noel of Weems, charged with a felony for eluding/disregarding police, was found guilty of an amended misdemeanor charge of stopping a vehicle to impede travel and sentenced to 12 months with nine months suspended. Noel was found guilty of a misdemeanor for driving on a suspended or revoked license and given a 30-day suspended sentence. He also was given suspended sentences for 15 felony probation violation charges. A felony charge for child abuse, disregard for life was dismissed.
