RICHMOND—By a 4-3 vote, the Virginia Supreme Court on Friday, May 8, ruled the process for placing the proposed amendment on the April 21 ballot violated procedural requirements.
As a result, the Democrats’ attempt to gain a 10-1 majority when electing members to the U.S. House of Representatives was thrown out and the upcoming election will most likely be based on the previous map finalized in 2021. That map gives Democrats a majority in six of the districts.
However, the issue may not be over….
