KILMARNOCK—Sen. Tim Kaine on Wednesday, May 6, met with board members of the Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic (NNMFHC) to discuss rural healthcare in Virginia.

Prior to meeting with the board, Sen. Kaine toured the facility, which has provided healthcare to low-income and uninsured area residents since 1993. Over the past 30-plus years, over 20,000 individuals have received healthcare services from the clinic, with over 2,000 patients receiving reoccurring care regularly, said chief executive officer Jeanie Nelson.
Sen. Kaine said his primary reason for being there was to learn more about what is currently going on in the field of rural medicine, along with what challenges a non-profit medical facility faces…..
